LMH Health in Lawrence, Kansas, is a 174-bed community-owned hospital. Founded in 1921, LMH has continued to expand its healthcare services to include specialty-care offices and clinics throughout the region. Within the hospital’s ultrasound department, the team typically handles approximately 50 ultrasound scans per day, including general vascular, pelvic, gall bladder, prostate and guided biopsies.

TJC Accreditation

Jason Perry, Ultrasound Supervisor at the hospital, is one of six sonographers in the department, and uses trophon^® devices daily to ensure probes are properly disinfected and ready for the next patient.

Time Savings and Workflow Efficiency

Implementing trophon technology has also improved the efficiency of the sonographers’ workflow. “The trophon device is much easier, and it saves time. With a relatively small team, each tech who performs the ultrasound procedure is also responsible for reprocessing the equipment. Having the trophon device only a few steps away is so much quicker than bringing it to a cleaning room. The disinfection cycle is much faster, and we don’t need a separate reprocessing room, ventilation requirements and chemicals.”

In addition to the those in the ultrasound department, LMH has trophon devices located in the Emergency Room, Surgery Center, IV Therapy, and Biomedical Training – 14 total throughout the facility.
