West Feliciana Hospital
Upgrade from soaking to trophon EPR device to trophon2 device
About the Facility
West Feliciana Hospital is a small, rural, all-patient facility in St. Francisville, Louisiana. It has served as the region’s primary healthcare center for nearly 50 years. In the last five years, the hospital has invested in a new medical center with high-tech imaging, lab work and emergency care with patient comfort and care in mind. As part of that initiative, the hospital had purchased a trophon® EPR device in 2015 in an effort to move away from soaking processes, and used it daily for both transvaginal and vascular procedures.

Nancy Metz Arceneaux, the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, applied for the 2020 IIPW trophon2 giveback giveaway sweepstakes, hoping to see some of the new improvements in the latest trophon2 device model.
“I never win anything, so it was such an exciting surprise to win the trophon2 device! We are a small, rural hospital. Our facility had been using the trophon EPR device for the last several years - which was great because it moved us away from soaking our probes. However, we are so excited by the upgrades with the new trophon2 devices.”Nancy Metz ArceneauxDiagnostic Medical Sonographer
Favorite trophon2 device features: “The new screens have really progressed from the previous model, and the equipment is so easy to use. We use the trophon2 device to reprocess all our ultrasound probes - both transvaginal and vascular, even where it's not required, because it makes us feel more confident in the standard of patient care. The trophon2 device has saved us time and money, and it gives us confidence in our disinfection process.”Nancy Metz ArceneauxDiagnostic Medical Sonographer
